PAMOJA GHANA

Reflect is widely used in Ghana both by ActionAid and other organisations, including the government. The Education Unit of ActionAid Ghana plays the lead role on Reflect in Ghana as well as promoting Reflect within the West Africa sub-region. ActionAid Ghana is currently working with 15 partner organisations using Reflect as a basis for community development. Currently there are almost 240 circles running with very effective community participation.

PAMOJA Ghana REFLECT Network is a group of adult Education practitioners engaged in the use of the REFLECT Methodology to facilitate adult literacy andPAMOJA Ghana
other development projects. In 2005, the network held the 5th annual forum to review planned activities of member organizations and to track performance and impact of the activities on the target beneficiaries.

The annual meeting was also a means of sharing and learning about innovations based on experiences got from implementation of the Reflect Methodology and programme in diverse socio-cultural environmental settings.

In 2005, PAMOJA Ghana REFLECT drew a strategic plan to guide the network
and developed instruments for assessing Reflect circles. Four members were nominated to join the regional team to steer the affairs of the organization. Training was organized for Liberian refugees.

In the same period PAMOJA Ghana supported the introduction of STAR to
Sierra Leone. PAMOJA Ghana plans to set up a secretariat in Accra to oversee the affairs of member organizations hopefully with initial support from ActionAid
International Ghana. PAMOJA Ghana plans to roll out STAR in Ghana by training member organisations and assisting them to implement STAR.
