PAMOJA MALI

PAMOJA MaliThe Republic of Mali is a landlocked nation in Western Africa. It borders Algeria on the north, Niger on the east, Burkina Faso and the Côte d'Ivoire on the south, Guinea on the south-west, and Senegal and Mauritania on the west.

The Reflect approach is being practiced more in the country. A number of structures, the circles inclusive, are increasing every year. There are about 100 Reflect circles and the approach is practiced in more than twenty structures. J&D plays a significant role in the coordination of the national Pamoja in Mali. The focal point is based in J&D.

The Pamoja fourth Council was held in Segou, Mali in 2005. About 20 participants from 16 Francophone and Anglophone countries attended the meeting which had themes on governance, community involvement, financing of the national PAMOJAs and advocacy.

The council objectives were:

  • To review the progress achieved by Pamoja, to identify challenges and to find solutions to the challenges.
  • To assess the performance of the secretariat, the task forces, the presidency and the general council
  • To make a review and to approve politics documents, plans and budgets for 2006
